We leave tomorrow.

And I am sooooo not ready! Not to fear. That seems to be the way we roll around here. One day at a time, and tomorrow is not here yet. Besides, I think I do my best work under pressure. (I hope!!)

The last few days have been great. I wish everyone could have had a window to our world since Thursday. So many thanks to Danny and Mom and Dad for helping out on Thursday. That was chicken washing and baking day and of course, we had to throw some basketball in there also. We would have been up all night without the extra help. Baking was a blast. I know that Aunt Jane never did it quite the way we did. No doubt she was smiling - no laughing out loud, watching the improvisations we had to make. But, it worked! The boys both had success at the show with their baking projects. Landon won first place in the coffee cakes with "Aunt Janes Coffee Cake" and Austin won Outstanding yeast bread entry with "Aunt Janes Yeast Bread". Thanks to Renae and Megan for getting us those recipes. This was truly a testament to what a great cook Aunt Jane was. And, just a note to anyone else who gets a hold of her recipes. She didn't do anything small! Be sure to read carefully and not mistake 5 1/2 pounds of flour for 5 1/2 cups! Cut it down first or you will surely have a freezer full of bread!

On to the birds. Washing was a hoot, as always. There was poop flying everywhere - literally. Uncle Danny, the judge made a point to find out whose birds these were, and thanked both of the boys for washing them. He said it makes such a difference when judging. Many thanks to you and Dad for the help. For those who have never seen this, these birds get the royal treatment, blow dryers and all. It is quite a production. Anyway, the boys were rewarded for their (and our) work. They had the Grand Champion, and the 3rd place chickens. The show was great, their were many good birds. Great competition. They sold their birds last night at the premium auction and we delivered the dressed birds to the buyers. We are done with birds! WooooHooooo!

Can't leave little Abby out. She did help with the chickens and all, but her success this week came at tumbling. She received two new medals for her back bend kick over, and back walk over. She is learning everyday and loves to "perform"

More later, But I have to help get kids ready for church. Mark just serenaded them with song and guitar to get them out of bed. I am rolling at his verse improvisation, and it is working!

So long, Love to all, Missy

JUST TO REMIND YOU THAT CHURCHES AND CHRISTIANS ALL OVER BURKBURNETT WILL BE HOLDING YOU UP IN THEIR PRAYERS!!!....
Also kudos to all the kids for their wonderful accomplishments! Which reminds me, I just noticed another way to possibly be helpful? Just LOVE chickens! No kidding! We used to raise them as pets and 'cuddle' them whether they liked it or not. So next time you have a 'bath party' please give me a call?...
LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH AND KNOW THAT GOD'S GREATEST LOVE AND CARE WILL HELP YOU SAIL THRU ALL OF THIS! THIS TOO SHALL PASS!
Keep us posted! Love, Janet

MISSY & MARK,

I was so touched to read that Mom's breads were what your children baked...you are so right, Mom was having a great time watching y'all make that bread! She always thought so much of your family and enjoyed visiting with you and the kids! Just wanted to let you know that you are in our prayers daily. When I read your blog, a scripture verse came to mind that I thought fit and gives me great, great comfort in times of trouble. It is taken out of Psalms 46:10 and reads: BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD; I WILL BE EXALTED AMONG THE NATIONS, AND I WILL BE EXALTED IN THE EARTH. THE LORD ALMIGHTY IS WITH US; HE IS OUR FORTRESS". It is wonderful to know that when we go through these rocky times that He basically tells us to just "be still" and let Him take care of things and that He will be there! It is our family's prayer for you guys that you will feel His great peace that surpasses understanding during this time. We will be praying for you, and Larry wanted to let you know that he will be sending his prayers once again from Shanghai, China! I will be checking your family down here in Windthorst to see what needs to be done and please know I am a phone call away for anything you might need!
Love y'all, Larry & Renee'

Hey Cuz,

Guess my first one didn't go through... anyway I wanted you to know that we had prayer for you again yesterday and I shared with the congregation some of the response you expressed over the cards sent from down Houston way.

I know that Tuesday is a big day, but you've faced days like it before and I look forward to hearing a good report on your progress in the coming days.

In the meantime, I like this one
Psalm 31:14,15a
“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord, I say, “You are my God.” My times are in Your hand.”
